BIBO Water Dispenser FAQs

I’m going on holiday, what should I do with my BIBO?

if you are going to be leaving your BIBO home alone for an extended period of time, it’s a good idea to turn the water and power supplies off. It will keep the date and time, as well as any of your programmed settings. When you get back simply turn the water and power supplies back on and dispense around 5 litres of water on the hot and cold side to flush through.

Can I recycle the filters?

Yes, please do! Both the Maxi Filter and the UV Lamp are fully recyclable and you can just pop them in your normal household recycling.

I live in a hard water area, will this be a problem?

Our filters do not remove the minerals that cause limescale but the hot tank has been designed to keep those minerals in suspension so that the elements inside do not become furred. We have actively avoided using an anti-scale “dosing” system, unlike our major competitor, because we do not believe that adding anti-scale chemicals to the water is the best option for the creation of pure water.

We offer a hot tank cleaning kit to descale your hot tank and we recommend you do this every 6 months regardless of the hardness of your water.

Do I have to fill my BIBO with water myself, like my coffee machine?

No! The beauty of the BIBO is that it’s a plumbed in water machine. It automatically refills as you take water from it, so it is always ready to give you both hot and chilled water.
